Job Description

Working closely with the HR Manager, you will confidently represent the Executive team throughout the wider business.

Driven with enthusiasm, you will be highly motivated to continuously improve the people function as you develop, implement and evaluate employee plans around L&D, OD, talent & management development, succession planning and e-learning.

The core responsibilities of this role are intrinsically linked, and a holistic approach to fulfilling the responsibilities is required. The Organisational Development & Learning Manager will work closely with the HR Manager, and wherever necessary deputise during absences. A condition of employment requires that the incumbent learn, abide by and sponsor the Guiding Principles of the Company.

In addition, all associates are responsible for maintaining adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices. This includes understanding and implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and integrating these considerations into daily work activities.

JOB DUTIES:

 

Learning and Development:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate employee development plans and programs to support organisational needs such as competency development, management development, talent management, succession planning, technical or nontechnical training, or e-learning.
  • Monitor employee development and training programs, assess needs, develop new programs and modify existing programs.
  • Where necessary, deliver internal training.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of all learning and development activities and, where necessary, modify the programs to ensure that needs are fully met.
  • Ensure that any apprentice programs are properly managed.
  • Manage Educational Assistance applications.
  • Co-ordinate and participate in all onboarding activities.
  • Represent and actively participate in the corporate Learning and Development Community.

 

Talent Management:

  • Lead all aspects of the talent management life cycle: including Performance and Behaviour, Talent Reviews, Goal setting and Goal Rating, Succession Planning and Calibration.

This position is based in Port Talbot. However, there may be a requirement, from time to time, to work at other global locations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CIPD Qualified
  • A relevant degree would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience operating in a higher-level learning and development, generalist Human Resource role in a manufacturing / engineering environment preferable.
  • Good counselling, negotiation and mediation skills.
  • Sound business/financial awareness and the ability to translate organisational objectives into HR initiatives/programs/policies/procedures.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
